How to Create a Self-Care Routine That Sticks

Updated: May 28

Self-care doesn’t need to be complicated. Here’s how to build a realistic self-care routine that nurtures your mental health.

Self-care isn’t bubble baths and candles (unless that’s your thing). It’s about meeting your own needs with care and intention. Here's how to build a routine that sticks:

  1. Start Small – 5 minutes of journaling or stretching counts.

  2. Be Consistent – Make it a daily or weekly habit.

  3. Choose What Works for You – Walks? Art? Silence? Therapy?

  4. Protect It – Treat self-care like a non-negotiable appointment.

At Hope Prevails, we help clients explore their values and build routines that restore energy—not drain it.
